Auckland, New Zealand - Visionary Technologies Ltd is proud to announce that its state-of-the-art lighting solutions have been selected for use in Americold Realty Trust's significant expansion project at the Dalgety site in Auckland, New Zealand. This project is part of Americold's strategic investment of approximately $65 million NZD to expand their infrastructure network, adding 4.6 million cubic feet of temperature-controlled capacity.
Americold's expansion, anchored by Woolworths New Zealand (Countdown supermarkets), aims to support the anticipated growth of national retailers, food producers, processors, distributors, and quick-service restaurants in New Zealand. This expansion will increase the site’s capacity by approximately 27,000 pallet positions and will include 20 additional dock doors and semi-automated container unloading technology to enhance operational efficiency.
Visionary Technologies' market-leading Highbay lights were chosen to illuminate Americold's expansive cool store environments. These lights were selected for their exceptional efficiency, minimal heat generation, long lifespan in harsh conditions, and superior output capabilities. These attributes ensure reliable and sustainable lighting for Americold’s large-scale temperature-controlled facility.
Additionally, Visionary Technologies integrated VT-Link wireless technology to automate the cool store and facility lighting for occupancy sensing, further enhancing energy savings. The use of VT-Link was crucial for cost efficiency, as traditional DALI systems proved prohibitively expensive and less reliable in such a demanding and extensive environment.
"We are thrilled that Americold has chosen our advanced lighting solutions for their ambitious expansion project," said Ben Davidson, CEO of Visionary Technologies Ltd. "Our Highbays lights and VT-Link wireless technology are designed to meet the rigorous demands of temperature-controlled environments, ensuring both efficiency and reliability. This selection underscores our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients."
